  • it is the foaming agent that influences most of the key benefits to the finished product (ie. insulation, sound and fire ratings)
  • the foaming agent helps ensure production/ product consistency
2. Correct production equipment
  • Lightweight concrete is not the same as normal weight concrete and without the proper equipment – production consistency and economics are difficult to achieve
3. Having a production System
  • a. Without a production system in place (including a quality control system), producing lightweight concrete becomes difficult to control and problems difficult to solve

Key Equipment

Foam Generator

While only weighing about 20kg, the foam generator produces a foam made up of air bubbles. It is the foam generator, combined with our foaming agent, that gives the air bubbles their unique properties

Lightweight Concrete Compulsary Mixer
Any lightweight concrete mixer has to fulfill 3 main functions
  • Since lightweight concrete does not have any coarse aggregate, a lightweight concrete mixer has to be able shear the cement particles in order for the mix to achieve its optimum strength and durability
  • Mix the foam into the slurry quickly and uniformly (note: being made of air, the foam tends to sit on the top of the mix unless the mixer “works properly”)
  • Produce a uniform lightweight concrete weight
In-Line Site Mixers

Producing lightweight concrete on-site is made easy using our In-Line mixer product line. With production volumes up to 90m3 per hour, our In-Line mixer produce lightweight concrete quickly, efficiently and consistently.

Mortar in added to the intake hopper and ist is feed into the in-line mixer. Here the air bubbles are mixed into the mortar over a 1 m length. The resulting lightweight concrete made simply by turning on a switch.

Factory Base Production Systems

For Factory based lightweight concrete production, we can supply customers with complete plant equipment or, for both manual and semi-automatic plants – individual pieces of equipment.

Since our lightweight concrete is cement based, the equipment needed to produce high volumes per day is far less than other systems. No need for autoclaves, high pressure steam lines, silos for many dry materials, multiple slurry mixers, or complicated cutting equipment. K Block plants are designed to make producing lightweight block simple and consistent. Any since we also operate a fully automatic plant ourselves – training and trouble-shooting any issue is quick and easy – since we have direct and practical experience on production and marketing lightweight concrete block

Since our lightweight concrete is cement based, equipment needed to produce the above volumes per day includes items like moulds, cement screws, or sand belts – so customers need only purchase the key production equipment form K Block (mixer, foam generator, additives [ ie. foaming agent] and cutters for block plants. This helps keep the total equipment investment low.. Any since we have operated both the manual and semi-automatic plants ourselves – training and trouble-shooting any issue is quick and easy – since we have direct and practical experience on production and marketing lightweight concrete block
